GlobalLogic, a Hitachi Group company has introduced its Test Automation Kit (TAK), an AI-native validation framework designed to automate testing across fixed broadband and 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) environments.

Unveiled at the RDK Global Summit, TAK uses Agentic AI to convert plain-English requirements into executable and validated Python test scripts. The framework is designed to address testing challenges as broadband platforms adopt technologies such as Wi-Fi 7 and 5G FWA, which require faster software release cycles and broader validation.

From test intent to executable scripts

GlobalLogic said TAK can orchestrate and validate broadband environments across physical and virtual laboratories, covering fixed broadband gateways and 5G FWA customer premises equipment (CPE).

The framework allows manual QA engineers, developers and product managers to describe test requirements in natural language and generate ready-to-run Python scripts. This is intended to reduce dependence on specialized CPE automation skills while helping engineering teams expand test coverage and shorten validation cycles.

TAK also supports automation maintenance. When a CPE’s user interface, API or underlying implementation changes, its Agentic AI capabilities can regenerate and adapt test scripts while retaining the original test intent.

AI-assisted diagnostics and script repair

The framework includes capabilities for analysing continuous integration test runs and investigating failures. Its multi-agent architecture can test results, identify potential root causes and provide actionable insights from logs.

When an automation script fails, TAK analyses system behaviour to identify the source of the problem and propose workarounds. This enables scripts to be repaired and recovered without requiring teams to rebuild automation from scratch.

“By executing the code it generates directly in authorized physical and virtual lab environments, our Test Automation Kit can interpret feedback, adapt and self-heal in real time,” said Yogendra Sharma, Head of GlobalLogic’s Communications & Network Providers business.

The AI agents are built on GlobalLogic’s existing broadband automation foundation, which the company said helps generated code follow established engineering practices for reliability, security and repeatability.

GlobalLogic has contributed to the RDK broadband ecosystem since 2019 and is a Preferred Plus Member of the RDK community. Its work includes RDK-B feature development, software customization and platform integration across 5G, GPON and DSL systems.

According to RDK Management, the RDK community includes more than 700 companies while RDK software has been shipped on more than 200 million devices globally.
