Cognizant has developed a service for enabling voice control of RDK-V and RDK-B devices and features. The service currently supports Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, and in the future will work with any Voice Assistant platform. Interfacing with any of the voice platforms you choose requires a single thin client integration on the RDK device with your end user interface.

Significant features that can be voice enabled on an RDK-V device include:
- Browsing and Searching Media Content
- Channel and Guide Navigation
- Playback Control
- App Control (such as “Show the weather forecast for Atlanta”)
- DVR Scheduling
On an RDK-B device, some of the features that can be voice enabled include Running Diagnostics on WiFi and Broadband Connection, Running an Internet Speed Test, Asking for the Current WiFi SSID and Password, and Triggering WPS Function for Connecting New Devices. As part of the new voice interface it is also possible to provide interactions for Customer Support.
